Who am I...

My name is Mi Ok. I am an artist, a poet, and a writer... graduate of Smith College.

I was born in Seoul, South Korea and adopted, at the age of five, by an American family. I grew up in New Jersey and Rhode Island with my pony Sandey. We grew up together and everything I learned about horseback riding, trust, kindness, humility, patience, spirituality, love, devotion, freedom and self-reliance, Sandey taught me...

In the winter of 1984, Sandey died tragically in a barn fire. It was heartbreaking and devastating. Sandey is my Little-Spirit-Horse. My greeting cards and posters are a tribute to my best equine friend's memory.

What I do...

Being a Korean adoptee has informed my artistic and creative sensibilities.

As an artist, I celebrate my love for animals and my pursuit for peace and solitude, as well as diversity and multi-cultural celebrations of humanity
and nature.

As a poet and writer, I carefully chose words, quotes and written prayers that speak to me from the quiet places of wisdom and enlightenment.

As an artist, I believe in the spiritual empowerment of self to others before anything else. I also believe that my cards and posters provide insight, intelligence and truth.
